STUDIO POLICIES

SUCCULENTS

1.

Leap of Faith Arts Ministries is a member-based organization.  Our annual membership fee is $30 per student.  Membership fees are non-refundable with the exception of preschool students who are determined to be unready for dance and may receive a credit for the following season. Enroll early: Classes fill up fast, and class size is limited.  Leap of Faith reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment.

2.

Dance Tuition rates are for the full 10 month season (August 15-June 24). Your tuition is based on a minimum of 40 classes for the year.  We have structured the tuition rate so you are not charged for weeks the studio is closed (i.e.: Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break, etc.), however the billing is divided equally between 9 months. Tuition does not include the annual membership fee, dancewear, shoes, recital costumes, recital tickets, recital t-shirts, private lessons, or special events. Tuition is charged on the first of every month from August-June.

3.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy:  A one-month notice from the first day of the month is required to discontinue any payments.  Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be done at the studios’ office and not with an instructor. Refunds are only given when Leap of Faith cancels a class due to low enrollment.  Leap of Faith Arts Ministries reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice. In such a case, a refund for unused lessons will be given. No refunds are given for missed lessons. Cancellation of classes will result in removal from auto-pay and no further debits will be deducted from the account on file, if and only when notified 1 month prior to the next billing cycle.  Refunds are only given for prolonged illness or injury. In both cases, a doctor’s note is required.

4.

Insufficient Funds: A $20 fee will be assessed for all declined or returned transactions. This includes checks, as well as auto-payments.

5.

Rescheduling and Substitution: Leap of Faith reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regular teacher is ill or is otherwise unable to teach. Leap of Faith reserves the right to reschedule or combine classes when needed.

6.

Inclement Weather Policy: Studio closures due to severe weather conditions will be announced by 2pm on that day. Notifications of weather cancellations will be emailed and posted to the Facebook page, as well as a text message sent to each family.  All private lessons will be rescheduled. Any group class will not be rescheduled, but will be allowed to choose any other group class in our schedule to attend as a make-up. No refunds or credits will be given due to inclement weather. Regular scheduled classes will be via Zoom.

(Updated due to COVID-19) Leap of Faith reserves the right to deliver class content via an online system in the event that classes are not able to be conducted live for any reason including, but not limited to: weather, teacher absence, or governmental advisory.

7.

Attendance: Regular attendance is vital to student progress and group choreography.  Please make every effort to attend each class IF YOUR CHILD IS FEELING HEALTHY. If a student is to miss class, please notify their instructor 24 hours in advance, unless there is an illness or emergency.  In this case, please call either 779.2323.LOF or the dance director at least 30 minutes prior to class.  Students may make up 1 missed lesson per semester.  If a student misses more than 2 of the final 8 classes before the recital, they may be dismissed from participating in the recital routine at the discretion of the instructor.  Shining Lights Dancers have additional attendance policies.  Please see your handbook for more information. All dancers are expected to be in person for class attendance in studio. Zoom will be used only for inclement weather days.

THIS ATTENDANCE POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON STATE AND NATIONAL COVID-19 RECOMMENDATIONS.

8.

Student Etiquette:

*Arrive to class on time.

*Wear dress code appropriate attire.

*Remain respectful of the instructor and class members.

*No gum, food, or beverage is allowed in dance studio, except bottled water.

*Attendance is essential to quality education in the arts.

*Consecutive absences will result in removal from class.

*Please use the restroom before class, during breaks, or after class.

*Student cell phones should be turned off and left outside of the studio during class.

9.

Dress Code:

Leap of Faith’s dress code is designed to ensure an educational and safe environment as well as to promote modesty. Dancer’s hair must be pulled back at all times.  If hair is not pulled back, it can interfere with the dancer’s line of vision. Jeans are not to be worn in any discipline. Dancers should wear a solid-colored leotard, tights (pink tights for ballet classes) and either a dance skirt, fitted capri or jazz pants, or longer shorts to all dance classes.  Short shorts and other immodest dance-wear is not acceptable and will result in parents being called to bring appropriate dancewear to the studio.  Dancers should have their hair pulled neatly back and secured in place with bobby pins and hairspray.

When arriving or leaving the studio, it is expected that all students wear a cover-up of some sort.  This may be a pair of pants, dress, sweater, sweatshirt, etc.  Students should not wear dancewear outside of the classroom without putting on street clothes over their leotard, tights and fitted shorts or pants.

10.

Behavior Expectations:

Leap of Faith is an active advocate of safety, quality, and care. Students that choose to exhibit behavior that is disrespectful, unsafe, or harmful will be asked to observe class. If the situation proves to be worsening, the student will be asked to leave the class, and his or her parents will be called.  If the situation is becoming uncontrollable, the student’s parents will be called and asked to immediately pick up the student (in a case like this, the student may be told that he/she can no longer attend class). Leap of Faith hopes that these incidents will never arise; however, to provide the best quality, safety, and care this needs to be implemented.

11.

Safety:

Leap of Faith strives to provide the best quality and care to all students and their families. These safety guidelines must be taken into great consideration.  Parents/Guardians should walk their child in and out of the studio (except for dancers attending two classes in a row). Parents/Guardians need to make the instructor aware if someone beside themselves will be dropping off or picking up the dancer. Parents/Guardians need to be punctual when arriving to pick up their child. Instructors and desk staff have prior obligations and commitments and cannot take on the responsibility of looking after a child and waiting until a parent/guardian arrives. Thank you for your understanding.

12.

Please Note: There will be times during class in which the instructor may need to assist a dancer through movement.  In such cases, the instructor may need to physically touch the dancer in order to ensure proper instruction.
